The wind turbine contains a compressor located behind the rotor. When the rotor spins, air is compressed and piped down the tower to an underground network of larger pipes or caverns. |

The compressed air may be accumulated for hours,or even days depending upon storage capacity available. |

When power is desired, air is released from storage, heated and used to drive expanders connected to electricity generators. |
